Do noun law graduates go to law school: Noun University is now expanding so rapidly within a short period of time. Many students who intend to study Law at NOUN University have this fear in them of them not going to law school after 5 years in Noun school.
Although, there has been an atmosphere of Joy among the Bachelor of Laws (LLB) graduates of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) since they received official call-up letters for admission into the Nigerian Law School, Bwari, Abuja, last week.
Which Noun Graduate Law Student Received a Call-up letter to Law School? One of the graduates from Noun University known as Mr. Okwuonu received a Call-up letter. The University has given out a memo requesting for all Noun Law graduate from the 2014 to 2019 academic session to submit a fresh file of the document which makes them qualified for admission into Noun University.
Can Noun law Graduates Go To Law School? The Noun University has not been approved for going to Law school officially because the Noun University is seen as a correspondent institution, but the university had approached the National Assembly to amend the Act of parliament establishing the institution and to remove the clause that described the university as a correspondent institution.
Is Any Noun Law Graduate In Law School? Yes, The Noun University has a law graduate who is in Law school now. Mr. Okwuonu received an email on June 14th of 2021 of being given admission into the special remedial programme of the Nigerian Law School and they should be in Nigerian Law School, Bwari, Abuja, on Monday 28th June, 2021.

The happiness of Okwuonu could not be hidden when he said that he and his colleagues were highly elated that they had finally been given an opportunity to proceed to the Law School to get qualified as professional legal practitioners, as well as barristers and solicitors of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
The waiting was painful, but we knew that it wasn’t the fault of the university. We’re truly elated, all of us; and we thank the university for having been so concerned and stood by us to ensure that it ended in this happy note,” he said.
The amendment has been passed by the National Assembly and assented to by the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Muhammadu Buhari, in December 2018. So there is hope for Law students at Noun University.
It would be recalled that for many years, the Council of Legal Education (CLE) had precluded NOUN law graduates from gaining admission into the Nigerian Law School. They had argued that the graduates of the institution were receiving instructions through correspondence and that the CLE did not accept students who studied by correspondence into the Nigerian Law School.
The hope of the rest Law graduate at NOUN depends on him. Mr. Okwonu would determine whether the next batch of NOUN graduates at Nigeria’s apex legal education institution would be granted direct admission instead of going through the special remedial programme.
