DW Akademie Journalism Scholarships in Germany are now available for all applicants. Applicants will be notified of the scholarship outcome as part of the selection process. Applicants who are eligible for an alternate scholarship will be issued an offer including a scholarship at the time of application.

DW Akademie Journalism Scholarships Brief Description
As a joint project of the University of Bonn, the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, and DW Akademie, DW’s center for international media development, journalism training, and knowledge transfer, the program offers a perfect learning environment for up to 30 students per year.

Media representatives from radio, TV, online, and print
• Journalists-in-training, especially from electronic media
• Journalists and management from community radio stations
• Communication experts
• NGO employees
• Employees from ministries
• Employees from cooperative development groups and projects
• Representatives from regional working groups and national broadcasters
• Media association representatives
For the Master’s Program, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree, at least one year of professional experience in a media-related field, and advanced skills in German and English.
Application Deadline Date For DW Akademie Foreign Scholarships Programs For International Applicants
The application deadline date for the applications is 31st March 2023. You should check the internal deadlines set by the Participant Host Institution.
Candidates applying for Training, and Master’s levels are welcome to apply before the deadline date 31st March 2023.
If you are accepted into the program, our cooperation partner, the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences will ask you to submit certified copies of your original documents.
Please note: Documents not originally issued in English or German must also be accompanied by an official, certified translation. If required for your country, your original documents should also be officially certified for authenticity.
