NDDC Scholarship Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify for the scholarship, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Region of Origin:
- Applicants must be from the Niger Delta Region.
- Academic Achievement:
- A scholar should hold a First Class Degree, Second Class Upper, or Lower Division.
NDDC Selection Process:
The selection process involves several stages:
- Initial Application:
- Interested candidates are required to submit an online application through the Commission’s official website.
- Preliminary Shortlisting:
- Candidates will be shortlisted based on the following criteria:
- WASSCE/NECO results
- Undergraduate Degree classification (1st Class, Second Class Upper/Lower)
- Local Government Identification
- Candidates will be shortlisted based on the following criteria:
- Computer-Based Test:
- Shortlisted candidates will undergo a computer-based test conducted by the Commission’s consultants in Rivers State.
- Minimum Test Score:
- Candidates must achieve a minimum score of 70% on the test to proceed to the next stage.
- Further Shortlisting:
- Candidates who successfully pass the test will undergo further shortlisting.
- Final Verification:
- The final verification of candidates will be conducted through the Local Government Area (LGA) and Community Development Committee (CDC).
NDDC Application Process Guidelines
To complete your application, ensure the inclusion of the following documents:
- Recent passport photograph
- Local Government Identification Letter
- Post Graduate admission letter from an internationally recognized university
- Relevant degrees obtained from accredited universities
- NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate
Upon successful submission of the application form, an automated registration number will be assigned to you. It is recommended that applicants print a hard copy of the online-generated acknowledgment for future reference.
The list of shortlisted candidates will be announced and published on the NDDC website: www.nddc.gov.ng. Shortlisted candidates will then be required to participate in a Computer-Based Test (CBT).
Important Information:
- Communication Policy: The NDDC won’t get in touch with candidates who weren’t chosen for the Computer-Based Test (CBT), those not invited for an interview, or those who didn’t succeed in the interviews.
- Preference Criteria: We give priority to candidates from Oil Producing Host/Communities/Local Government Areas, as long as they meet the approved cut-off mark.
- Fair Course Distribution: We’re making sure that there’s a fair mix of courses for beneficiaries in each State.
- Restrictions:
- You can’t defer your application.
- Changing your institution or course is not allowed.
- Selection Process: The Commission has the final say in choosing candidates based on the criteria mentioned. We appreciate your understanding.
