UNIOSUN Admission Requirements
General Requirements:
- Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent with credit level passes in five subjects at no more than two sittings.
- An acceptable score in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Direct Entry (200 Level) Requirements:
- At least five O/L credits, including two at Advanced Level or approved equivalents.
- All Direct Entry candidates, including those on UNIOSUN’s IJMB and JUPEB programmes, must have obtained a Direct Entry form from JAMB to be considered.
UNIOSUN Departmental Admission Requirements
For U.M.E. Candidates:
- SSCE or equivalent with credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, and other core subjects, along with credit in any two other relevant science, social science, or humanities subjects.
- An acceptable UTME score.
UNIOSUN Direct Entry Candidates (200 Level):
- At least two Advanced Level passes in relevant subjects (requirements vary by course).
- Credit passes in five relevant subjects at SSCE or its equivalents.
- ND/NCE or approved equivalents in relevant fields with at least a lower credit.
- Acceptable pass in the UNIOSUN Foundation Programme with the requisite qualifications for 100-level entry.
UNIOSUN Post UTME Screening
UNIOSUN holds a Post UTME screening for candidates who chose it as their first choice (or switched to it) and scored at least 160 in UTME. Candidates who scored below 200 are not considered for Law, Nursing, Medicine and Islamic Law, but they can change to another relevant programme.
UNIOSUN Admission Process for 2026/2027
- Admissions for 2026/2027 run through JAMB’s Central Admission Processing System (CAPS).
- The screening portal is admissions.uniosun.edu.ng.
- Form submission closed at 12 noon on Thursday, 17 September 2026, so check the portal for any further notice.
UNIOSUN Cut-Off Marks 2026/2027
JAMB cut-off: 160 for most courses, and 200 for Law, Nursing and Islamic Law.
Departmental cut-off: UNIOSUN published cut-offs for 107 programmes, with Nursing Science at 77.4 and Law at 77.1 for general merit. Another site says UNIOSUN has not released a separate numeric cut-off for each department. Confirm your course’s cut-off on the official portal.
Important Notice: Reaching a cut-off mark alone does not guarantee an offer of admission.
Beware of Admission Fraud
UNIOSUN has warned applicants against people who claim they can secure slots or manipulate the admission process. Never pay anyone for a “guaranteed” admission. Use only the official portal.
UNIOSUN Registration Procedure
- Registration is typically completed at the start of the semester.
- Changes to registered courses require course coordinator approval.
- Withdrawals from a course are allowed before one-third of lectures, with failure after this point resulting in a recorded 0F grade.
- Late registration may be permitted up to four weeks after the start of registration.
UNIOSUN Duration of Degree Programmes
- Non-professional degree programs typically require a minimum of four years (or three years for direct-entry candidates).
- Registration extensions up to 50% of the program’s duration may be granted if a student fails to graduate within the minimum period.
