How much is the FGC School Fees? The Federal Government approved a new school-fee structure for new students admitted into Federal Unity Colleges, increasing the first-term payment from ₦45,000 to ₦100,000.
The revised fees were contained in a Federal Ministry of Education circular dated May 25, 2023, with reference number ADF/120/DSSE/I.
If your child has been offered admission into a Federal Government College, below is the breakdown of the approved ₦100,000 first-term charges.

The ₦100,000 covers the listed charges for the first term. Tuition is free, but parents are expected to pay the approved charges covering boarding, uniforms, learning materials and other school services.
Do All Federal Government Colleges Charge ₦100,000?
The ₦100,000 figure comes from the Federal Government’s May 2023 directive for new students in Federal Unity Colleges. It should not automatically be treated as the confirmed fee for every student or every academic session.
Parents should confirm the payment schedule with the particular college, especially when dealing with returning students or a new admission year.
Some of the Federal Government Colleges in Nigeria include:
- Federal Government College, Kano
- Federal Government College, Ijanikin
- Federal Government Girls’ College, Sagamu
- Federal Government College, Enugu
- Federal Government College, Odogbolu
The previous article mentioned different amounts for some of these schools, including ₦50,000 for FGC Enugu and ₦49,500 for FGC Odogbolu. Those figures should not be confused with the ₦100,000 fee structure in the 2023 Federal Government directive.

Yes. Tuition is free in Federal Unity Colleges. However, parents still have to pay approved charges for items and services such as boarding, uniforms, textbooks, medical services and other school activities.

Before making payment, contact the administration of your child’s Federal Government College and request its approved fee schedule for the relevant academic session.
